AI ftw?

The best and worst AI i've seen in a game , both are in Ultima Online.
The best simply beacause in ultima online , which is a mmorpg, players
were able to interact with the NPC's. And actually type things to them and not just
select a choice of things to say. Another thing is that the NPC's could tell the difference
between good and bad players , and decide if they want to help or not depending on a list
of different variables they would have to look through to decide. Although creating these
"ai"s was rather simple and easyily done , it made UO's NCPs stand out among other MMORPG's.

Now , the reason I think it was also the worst AI , is another simple answer. They can't learn.
Their entire knowledge was based simply off what a person told them. Given the correct or near
correct answer , would lead to the NPC responding with something in return.. A lot like the bots
we've been working on. Another problem would have to be that their entire life that they live
in the game is a pre-designed course set for them. So they pretty much are oblivious to everything
that is going on around them. But , what game is any different from this?

Woo for an essay!

Ahoy there for all my minions who dare to enter my domain!
For I hath written the worst essay of all time! BWAHHAHA
You phere it , yet you continue reading!.

My fav game of all time & current fav game~.
My favourite game of all time would have to be Ultima Online.
For reasons that would boggle even the most insane people! Ooo!
Although the graphics are rather sad now , considering other games , the game play is the best.
Being able to choose wether you're good or evil , and what type of fighter you are.
Or , if you choose to become a merchant instead of a fighter to make money .
The ammount of possibilities within this game are so many that it makes the
poor graphics seem like a minimul problem. And with this intense of a game , even games
with the most uber best graphics stand no chance ! 110
I chose to become a swordsman on the side of evil. And after choosing thing , I decided
to run around kill other players just for the fun of it. The only problem with this , is that
UO had a reputation system that worked well with the game. If you kill 'blue' players ,players which
are good, you lose gain a bad rep. If you kill 'red' players , players which are bad,
you gain a good rep. And killing 'grey' players , players that are nuetral , you don't gain
any rep. There was also a bounty system that would ask the player whom was killed how much
of a bounty they'd like to place on the persons head who killed them.
Now although UO is an awesome game. I am currently stuck to WoW. Not many reasons for this
other than the fact that it has awesome graphics and a decent game play. If UO would ever
re-do their graphics , I would undoubtly switch back to playing that.
